Delete Your Account

KidTab only has an account for you if you turned on Family Sync. Without it, everything lives on your device and deleting the App removes it. With it, your family's records are also in our Google Firebase project, and this page is how to remove them and the account.

From the iPhone or iPad app

Open Settings, then Family Sync, then Delete Account. The App asks you to sign in again to prove the account is yours, then deletes the account. If you are the only guardian in the family, the family's records go with it. If other guardians remain and you did not create the family, only your own guardian record and membership are removed. If you created the family and others are still in it, the App asks you to remove them first, because KidTab cannot yet hand a family to another guardian.

From the Android app, or by email

The Android app cannot yet delete an account from inside the app. Email [email protected] with the subject "Delete my KidTab account". Send it from the email address you signed in with if you can. If you signed in with Apple and used Hide My Email, send it from any address and include your family name and your guardian name as they appear in the App, so we can find the account; we may reply through the relay address Apple gave you to confirm it is yours. We delete the account and the records it owns within 30 days and reply when it is done. The same request works from any platform.

What is deleted, and what is not

• Deleting the account removes the sign-in and, when you are the only guardian, the family's records from our project: names, ledger entries, chores, wishlist items.
• The copy on your device is untouched. Use Reset Local Data in the App, or delete the App, if you want that gone too.
• Turning Family Sync off, or leaving a family, does not delete anything already in the cloud. Only account deletion does.
